Today he missed being with someone
Missed their warmth on the bed
Missed having someone to talk to
All those things they never said

    Missed feeling surrounded by security
    Hated having dinner alone
Missed a shoulder to cry on
Missed seeing a text his phone

    Struggled to wrap around him
This scarf of memories left behind
    Almost choking, this crippling hold
Of the lack of fullness he sought to find

Said a silent prayer, as we always do
In hard times, Never must this curse befall
Of having built a life of everything
Lose the one with who to share it all..
