    Colors of the Rainbow

There were days when my soul was dark as coal
But when you came along it was the black that you stole

In return you painted my heart in colors that I had never seen
Like the tree we laid under; there suddenly was green

Then there was red; for the love in which I now believe
And orange like the sun; of which I hope that it will never leave

There was yellow; just like the sunflowers in the field
And indigo and violet; like the pretty flowers that appealed

There was the color blue; like the sky above our head
Then you pointed at the rainbow as I felt the colors spread
