The invasion was unprecedented
in the broad light of mirth
when darkness lurked in the light,
a wolf in the sheepskin, waiting in the hearth.
Predatory moves, calculating and sly
limbs shaking in ecstasy, a long wait to pry
on the prudence of it's prey, in delight
to corrupt and confiscate, fighting it's might.

The fangs dripped with juices of malice
it's tongue wagging, pendulous and blithe
a sway of desire, monstrous and bright
pouncing on me, with a true delight.
Taken off guarded, I stumble and swear
while she ravishes me with the promise of a dare
merciless in act, reckless in tact
of destruction to be wrought in the wake of dawn.

A slumber to regain my consciousness
sedate and limp due to encounter with darkness
once more I close my eyes in numbness
and the memory of struggle, returns with strangeness.

A familiarity of events, of violence, of malice
strikes my brain with realisation, shattering the lies,
I recount having same experience umpteen times
each time succumbing to the injuries nauseating with exposed flesh and stinking blood,
never daring to replace my fright with persistence,
my failure with scope for victory
and my weakness with strength newfound.

But now I dare to live again
not unexpected of her surveying eyes
and attacks in broad daylight
a permanence of struggles that awaits
to test my strength and weight my perseverance.
And when life again challenges me with a duel with the monster of self loathing,
my armor pulsate with the thriving energy that courses through my veins,
my swords rattle in anticipation to the battle of might,
my limbs gain strength I never knew I possessed,
and my eyes adjust to the darkness of fury, twinkling with delight of the repetitive encounter..
Because now, I am a survivor
Fighting with fervour, never failing to muster
the spirit of a warrior, invincible to fluster.
