lying sideways in the tall grass
the world looks different from this angle
in this place, it looks more pleasant
it looks more like a place I'd much
upside down now, my face flushed
the blood rushes into the top of my head
and in this place, I feel different
my problems so distant
I feel safe in this way, and this is the way
I'd much rather feel.
my hands are both left wide open
and of course, they're both empty
no grudges barred true enough
that I'd ever hold onto
a life lived on the brink of things,
which lacks both morals or judgement
it's this type of life
that I'd much rather live.
