I vowed to never sink beneath the waves,
To hold my head up high,
To never let the resentment building in my lungs out,
To never drown without atleast trying to swim, and,
My vows drifted apart like the sea,

    Keep swimming,
    They said,
    Keep walking,
    They said,
But seemingly in the span of a blink of an eye,
The words are melting away into the shadows I fear,
And they're caged around my ankles and wrists,
With empty words and smiles tattooed on those manacles,

    Keep swimming,
    They said,
    Little do those words mean,
To the those tied down by the world.
