    Age

    Age, what a thing
    That so subjects one
    Not only to self questioning
But has others view one differently
    Strange I don't see myself
    The real me older
    The man in the mirror
    He's not me, is he?
For inside I'm still the eighteen
    Youth that saw in truth
    The metaphor of being.
    Does it matter not
That I have an 18 month daughter
Or another to an ex that just turned
    Twelve.
Does it matter worth a squat
What I see as life, or being
And why should all this bother
    Others,
    If it doesn't bother me.
Age is it truly a number
Or is it just a thought.
