The fire in my soul burned out
Into wisps of agony
Exhaustion seeped in through every pore
Addling the heart and mind
Trammeled by the weight of reality
Chaining me to the chasms of the blues
As the cosmos turned sable,
the stars remained far from reach
Glinting wickedly in the distant horizons
Full of malice, without a tinge of solace.
Deluged in the sea of despondence
I sought not to touch the stars or cross the rosy tinted horizons
But to stay afloat in the dark waters
To keep myself sinking into the bottomless fathoms of hushed whispers and mutinous murmurs.
