She died in the night, so unworthy of death
All hope seemed so useless and vile
For hope let my fragile world be destroyed
My oaths by such lies were defiled
My companion was made to be half of me
We were sealed in both heart and soul
What is life to one human alone?
How can one, unpartnered, be whole?
My soul was torn from me that day
That half of me lies interred in her grave
A shattered life I cannot retrieve
And no mortal hand can save
