    "The Clouds"

O darling clouds, know that I don't hate you
I just hate you when you come in my way
and block the sunshine when I lie in the sand,
sunbathing, drinking wine, on a fine sunny day

I hate you a little again when you rain in cold
I can't stand the winds of winter: I've grown old!
But it doesn't mean that I really hate you
    I just don't like annoyance: Haven't I told?

Do you remember how much I adore you
when you cover the sun when I am sweating?
I wish you could see the love in my eyes
and I wish you could feel the relief in my sighs

And with how much joy do I cheer
when you rain on arid days?
When I sit on the porch with beer
and adore you all the ways

O darling clouds, know that I don't hate you
I just hate you when you don't serve me
I will love you if you too love me and comfort me
Otherwise I might just hate you, you see!

We hate the clouds when they block the sunshine but we love them when
they rain to quench our thirst.
Similarly we don't hate or love people
for who they are. We do that based on
whether they offer help or become a roadblock
in our purposes. And that's where we make
    a fundamental mistake as humans.
