Heart's Awakening

I was asleep in darkness once
for all the years of my life
As I entered into the world
my heart lived through peril and strife
 
Yes unconscious to what may be ahead
trying to constantly dull the pain
all the while praying for life
and within me through love may I sustain
 
A dreamer I am I tell you
of what a little boy's heart dreams
of a love that would enter my story
making my spirit burst at the seams
 
Could it be that it's here
and all the while I never knew
what would soon bestow upon me
divine love just for me so true
 
I know not what my future holds dear
nor the purpose of why I still breathe air
but if it's the hint of what's danced into my life
then I know now why my heart is so there
 
Unbeknownst to me she's always been searching
for the same shining and divine star
a love that's profound and undyingly sound
only together perfect love we are
