The Sound Of Love
I've always known him happy,
But the smile he gets when he thinks of her?
It is different- softer, purer, full of awe,
Almost like he can't believe she is real.
His emotions are deep now, he feels raw,
And his eyes drift to a side
Even as he speaks of a memory,
Almost like he relives the moment.
I sit there, my hands on his heart,
My ears pressed to my hands,
Listening to the beat of his heart as he thinks of her,
Knowing that I now knew the sound of love,
Truest and surest of all the affections,
Right in this moment- him and her,
With me as an eager witness.
