Work vs worker (An introduction to the series)
When looking at great works of art, literature, scientific achievements, etc. We collectively associate the person who discovered/created such a deed with their work itself.
This is obvious, what might not be so obvious is stupid that is and how it can blind us to the character of past and present scholars in training.
It has been stated time and again that brilliant scientist and great artist and damaged people with twisted, broken souls and blah blah blah. However, that just swings to the opposite extreme, labeling great workers as awful people.
The purpose of this is, above all else, to help those of us alive and struggling cope with our flaws and not let them discourage us from doing what we like and what we're good at.
