    ______The forlorn soul_____

    The whole Street was deserted,
With only a few street lamps lighted.
Little did anyone notice a thin figure,
Curled up beneath an old sculpture.
    People walked with buzzing mind,
So busy and often forgot to be kind.
There under the street lamp shone,
A blanket in rain and snow so fade.
No one had time to listen to him,
As the night grew and the lights went dim.
He might have felt the venomous thorn,
Of being deserted, empty and forlorn.
Morning, the blanket was still covered,
The street was once again crowded.
All his burden and pain went unnoticed,
About his hunger none ever asked!
No one did notice anything new at all.
For he was forever a forlorn soul.
