is like the ocean
there will always
be high and low tides
but if you are patient
enduring
not seeking the quick thrill
of a perfect wave
like the ocean
love is eternal

full of darkness
closing in on me
until i cannot breathe
just me and my thoughts
all the things i have done
falling back on me
in this empty room
the only question left
whether the emptiness is filled
with love or hate
whether i live or die
in this empty room
that is my life

when i was at my worst
scared, angry, lashing out
you stayed
although i pushed you away
held me close
and did not let me go
you fought for me
i don't know why
for my undeserving love
you stayed
and saved me from myself

is escape from past pain

time was running out
and my life flashing by
saw all the mistakes
and missed opportunities
too late to change anything
i thought of you
and all the wrongs faded
because sometimes
one right thing is enough
to redeem a life

the anxiety
of not fitting in
the nightmares
that wake me in sweats
the jumpiness
i cannot seem to shake
i cannot rid myself
of your hate
but i can live with it
and face my fears
boldly
every day

all the toasts hawaii
in the cheesy daily sitcom
i watched for your sake
but most of all
you're in his eyes
so sad and dulled
since you left
in his every move and thought
until he'll be able to join you
you are missed so dearly
by many, but most by him
whose whole world you were
and will always be
