Dad sent a WhatsApp audio the other day in the family group.
He wanted us to listen to the song he was listening to- 'Aayiram kannumai'
An old Malayalam classic song.
Although it was a poorly recorded one, the audio brought to me a lot more than nostalgia.
I could see my dad tapping his palm on the dining table as he kept an alert eye on his phone to make sure he was recording it right.
I could see my mom rolling her eyes at him and secretly giggling at how excited he was to do this.
I could see the TV running at an abnormally low volume because apparently the neighbours would get disturbed.
I could see the pot of milk kept under the fan to cool it to room temperature.
That one audio consumed 2 MBs in my phone and the whole of my heart.
I could see my home, and my world, all in two people.
