When I was sitting in my study in a pensive mood, thoughts of life's uncertainty (which are not uncommon to senility) flooded my mind and prompted me to pen my feelings and fears to share with my co-writers and readers before it is too late.
Will Ye Remember Me
Will ye rememember me
When I shall no more be,
Never to pen my thoughts
In prose or poetic crafts.
I strove to befriend thee
And ever wished a friend to be,
Each "like" and "comment" ennobled me,
Those that came unfettered and free.
None did ever fault me
For my thoughts were bias-free,
Respect I had for every one
And held a grudge towards none.
I held a brief for women
To have equal rights with men,
I pitied their plight
And stirred them to fight.
Life is a great suspense
Which Fates in queer doses dispense,
When the seconds run out,
The fire dies, without doubt.
Will you then remember me
When I am gone from thee,
Think of me if you will,
Who tried to please with his quill.
