Prelude: In the twilight of our love We had a breaking dawn A transcendental epiphany That love is never gone And from that moment forward We burned brighter than the sun And in the blaze of passion's glory Two melded into one. Copyright Carolyn Glackin 10/17/19
SAHARAN by Carolyn Glackin In the twilight of our love We found an oasis A holy respite In which to share our hearts Bare our souls And rest our heads In our quietude We found a lasting solace Both in our selves And in one another There we remained In love's embrace Divesting ourselves of masks Ridding ourselves of accoutrements Revealing ourselves to the truth Opening ourselves to divine glory Until we could rest no more For we remembered That love, at its finest Can never truly be tamed Cannot be shaped or controlled Will not be limited or restricted And must, at all times and at all costs, be fully free So we released it We uncaged it We unbridled it We let it run wild, come what may We watched as it changed and grew Bloomed and evolved Advanced and developed Soon, our love had a life of its own Seemingly, it was a separate entity And yet it was a part of the whole The permanently conjoined oneness Of we two It was of us, and we were of it Unendingly And oh how we reveled in it! In a glorious haze of passion and frenzy Our souls were ignited by the eternal flame of divine love Thus we were consumed and reborn by the flame And where once stood two A singular oneness remained Conjoined by the rapture of two hearts Freed by the sanctity of divine love. And so it is. Copyright Carolyn Glackin 10/17/2019.
