A rare and beautiful flower plant was lost and surviving all alone in a desert hoping to reach its destiny one fine day. An angel discovered this exotic flower plant and brought it to the haven and started nourishing it. The plant was gratified and as it was showered with love and care which it never experienced in its past at the desert. Both the affectionate angel and the mesmerising desert flower plant cherished their togetherness. The plant also believed that it finally reached its dream destiny at its compassionate angel. The plant eternally admired the lovely angel and she became its only world. But after some time the angel started nipping ever blushing flowers and lush branches of the exotic desert plant. The plant was hurt and suffered the pain with this strange behaviour of the angel, as in the past nobody had hurt it that way in the desert. As this displeasing act of angel continued it broke the heart of the plant. The plant could never understand the reason for the act of painful nipping by its only love, "THE ANGEL". #life#love#destiny#mirakee
The phrase Global warming was first used on 8 Aug 1975 by Wally Broecker in the journal Science. It signified that the climate was warming because it was by then known that humans were capable of changing and bringing modifications to the climate.
Greta Thunberg, a 16 year old has started an international youth movement against climate change. She recently won the Amnesty international Award for her unique leadership and courage in standing up for human rights."
According to her, excerpts from her Ted Stockholm speech:
"The main solution however is so simple that even a small child can understand it. We have to stop the emissions of greenhouse gases. And either we do that or we don't. You say nothing in life is black or white but that is a lie, a very dangerous lie. Either we prevent a 1.5 degree of warming or we don't. Either we avoid setting off that irreversible chain reaction beyond the human control, or we don't. Either we choose to go on as a civilization or we don't. That is as black or white as it gets. There are no gray areas when it comes to survival. Now we all have a choice. We can create transformational action that will safeguard the future living conditions for humankind, or we can continue with our business as usual and fail. That is up to you and me. You would think the media and everyone of our leaders would be talking about nothing else – but no one ever even mentions it. Today we use 100 million barrels of oil every single day. There are no politics to change that. There are no rules to keep that oil in the ground. So we can’t save the world by playing by the rules. Because the rules have to be changed. Furthermore does hardly anyone speak about the fact that we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction. With up to 200 species going extinct every single day. That the extinction rate is today between 1000 and 10,000 times higher than what is seen as normal.
If I live to be 100, I will be alive in the year 2103. When you think about the future today, you don't think beyond the year 2050. By then, I will in the best case, not even have lived half of my life. What happens next?
The year 2078 I will celebrate my 75th birthday. If I have children or grandchildren, maybe they will spend that day with me. Maybe they will ask me about you, the people who were around back in 2018. Maybe they will ask why you didn't do anything while this still was time to act?
Today we use 100 million barrels of oil every single day. There are no politics to change that. There are no rules to keep that oil in the ground. "
So what can we do for the society? Some solutions ●planting trees, ●restoring seagrasses, ●boosting the use of agricultural cover crops could help clean up significant amounts of carbon dioxide. Restoring forests already chopped down in Brazil, for example, could draw about 1.5 billion metric tons of CO2 out of the air ●follow the three r's Reuse, recycle and reduce ●go solar ●spread awareness ●avoid products with lots of packaging ●turn off all electronic devices including computers, laptops etc. ●realising the gravity of the situation and start acting.
"So we can't save the world by playing by the rules. Because the rules have to be changed.
Everything needs to change. And it has to start today." ~ Greta Thunberg
