    I wanted to tell him
    That I took his advice
    And ripped the
    Bandage off
    Exposing my wound
    To the world
    And it couldn't be
    More liberating.

Maybe this is how you felt too. Maybe you also gave up and thought to yourself what's the point of reaching out for help if only you alone were capable of helping yourself? What's the point of communicating and making people feel helpless, inadequate for not taking your pain away when it's you who is the cause of this pain? Maybe both of us were beyond help a long time ago. Both of us were doomed from the start. And every night I go to bed with your whispers in my ear calling me like a poem that's missing its rhyme.

    Letters To You

Loving you has turned to agony. Every passing second, loving you has meant missing you until I question reality. It has meant holding onto you so that your memories don't escape me. It has meant thinking of you and trying to find reasons why life had to take such a turn. I keep digging deeper and the darkness pools over my head, you would tell me to stop but I cannot stop. If I did, I would let you slip away.

My soul kept expanding like the universe and I wondered if I would encounter infinity.

    Death is an enemy
I do not fear meeting it
    But I do fear what
It can take away from me.

    It slips into my life
    And tip toes out with
    All that precious mine.
    These nights it slips
    Into my dreams
    And mocks me.

    I hear its laughter
    As it snaps every
    Soul that is
    A part of mine.

Ever since you left, I've lost all sense of direction. I don't question anything but life seems to be flowing in all kinds of directions and I don't know which road to take.

    The rain carressed your cheeks
The child within you still alive
You pull me out of the shadow
And taught me to live life.

    Like the snow fell
    And conquered the ground
    Like the icy comet
That set the sky on fire
    Your soul drowned in frost
    And left us ablaze.

    Winter is the death
    Of all that living
    Until spring flies in
    Like a phoenix.
    Ever since you left
    My heart slows,
    As the cold gets colder
    I long for your shoulder
And how you took my hand
    Within yours
    And kissed each knuckle
    One at a time;
    Always in denial
You were the greatest romantic of all.

For two souls to be bound
    I told myself
Blood is not the connection alone.
    Your mind lives on
    Within my memories
    Your ideas and your fancies
    I carry like a descendent
I promise I shall continue your legacy
    Until my last breath.
